{"id":1682,"date":"2013-08-29T15:53:03","date_gmt":"2013-08-29T11:53:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pinkarmenia.org\/news-events\/statement-regarding-threats-against-womens-resource-center\/"},"modified":"2026-03-24T12:48:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T08:48:22","slug":"statement-regarding-threats-against-womens-resource-center","status":"publish","type":"news_events","link":"https:\/\/pinkarmenia.org\/en\/news-events\/statement-regarding-threats-against-womens-resource-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Statement regarding threats against Women\u2019s Resource Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"549\" height=\"659\" src=\"https:\/\/pinkarmenia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/wrca.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-663\" style=\"width:151px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pinkarmenia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/wrca.jpg 549w, https:\/\/pinkarmenia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/wrca-250x300.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 549px) 100vw, 549px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The dissemination of aggressive misinformation is strongly marked on the eve of Association Agreement with the European Union, the target of which became human rights organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recently, instead of the faction submitting the draft, organizations engaged in the protection of women\u2019s rights are re-targeted during the heated discussions over the RA draft law about amendments to the RA law on \u201cEqual rights and equal opportunities of women and men\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Particularly, an attempt is made to justify the draft law over amendments to the law by deforming the activities carried out by the Women\u2019s Resource Center NGO and instigating aggressive attitude towards the organizations and its representatives until the point to voice threats of blowing up the Organization\u2019s office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There can be no other opinion that the authorities of the Republic of Armenia don\u2019t carry out the commitments undertaken over the elimination of all forms of discrimination and protection of human rights defenders as well as recommendations of international structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The inactivity of the authorities over elimination of discrimination is covered up by creating a fake public demand via misinformation, the goal of which is to establish legislative and practical grounds for displaying discrimination failing to realize the dangerousness of the results of such a conduct both for the society and for the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By strongly condemning the dissemination of misinformation inciting discriminating and aggressive attitude and the voiced threats,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We declare that the RA Police is the direct responsible for any encroachments against Women\u2019s Resource Center.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We demand that by carrying out its obligations, the RA Police should ensure the security of Women\u2019s Resource Center and its staff as well as reveal the identity of those posing threats to the Organization\u2019s staff and separate members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Helsinki Citizens\u2019 Assembly \u2013 Vanadzor NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unison NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Journalists for Human Rights NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Women\u2019s Support Center NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Socioscope NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Public Information and Need of Knowledge NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Journalists\u2019 Club \u201cAsparez\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cMenk +\u201d Social NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arena of Education NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New Generation humanitarian NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guarantee Center of Civil Society NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cBorders of our Rights\u201d human rights NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yerevan Center for Human Rights Protection NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yerevan Press Club<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shahkhatun NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Women\u2019s Resource Center NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helsinki Committee of Armenia NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protection of Rights without Borders NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Committee for the Protection of Freedom of Speech NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Partnership for Democracy NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Armavir Development Center NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cRule of Law\u201d Human Rights NGO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coalition to Stop Violence against Women<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A.
