“Image of Violence. Human Rights and Women Issues” event in Vanadzor

In Armenia and internationally 16 days of activism against gender-based violence is celebrated each year from November 25 until December 10. This year’s message is “Unite to prevent the violence”. Gender-based violence is related to anyone, and each of us can take a step to break the chains of all types of gender-based violence.

On December 6, 2023 “Pink” human rights defender NGO together with the Coalition to Stop Violence against Women organized the “Image of Violence. Human rights and women issues” event. It took place at one of the Vanadzor’s cafes where the representatives of the member organizations of the Coalition to Stop Violence against Women talked about how we understand the representations of gender-based discrimination and violence, the cases of domestic violence and existing support mechanisms in the country, the issues that women face in ensuring their sexual and reproductive health and rights and protection from sexual violence and assaults.

Queer camp

On December 8-10, a camp was organized for LGBT+ people living in the regions of Armenia. It was organized as part of the 16-Day Activism against Gender-Based Violence and included discussions on gender identities, sexuality in general, sensitivity and human rights, community-based resources and self-organization of activists. About 20 people from different regions of Armenia participated in the camp.

Wish you Happy Holidays

Dear LGBT+ community, partners and supporters,

Pink had a year with challenges and successes in our effort for fairness and acceptance. Despite the societal resistance and tough moments, Pink made significant efforts in raising awareness about the rights and struggles of the LGBT+ community.

Through community events, communication campaigns, and advocacy efforts, we fostered a sense of unity and resilience among LGBT+ individuals. While the journey towards full inclusivity is ongoing, Pink’s firm commitment to promoting understanding and mitigating discrimination has brought some change.

We hope that the coming year will open new ways for changes, progress and peace. We wish you Happy Holidays!
