May LGBT+ people feel more protected in the coming year

29-12-2024

Summing up Pink’s 17th year of activities and reflecting on the achievements and challenges of 2024, we note that the organization continued its dedicated efforts toward the effective protection of the human rights of LGBT+ people and the promotion of equality in society. Pink provided multidisciplinary support and safe spaces, implemented educational, cultural, and exchange programs benefiting hundreds of individuals, raised LGBT+ issues, and represented the community’s interests on both local and international platforms.

By prioritizing the decentralization and improved accessibility of psychosocial and legal counseling for LGBT+ individuals, our ongoing collaboration with professionals has opened up new opportunities for the community to access professional support. The growing network of professionals offers hope for increased availability of sensitive services.

Unfortunately, reports published by us and our international partners reveal a continued rise in human rights violations against LGBT+ individuals, accompanied by state inaction. Discussions on the anti-discrimination bill have shown no significant progress, and the recommendations of civil society were disregarded.

Despite these challenges, several important legal victories were achieved in the past year, offering hope that justice can ultimately prevail.

Our events are becoming increasingly popular and diverse year after year, with the “Rainbow Forum,” Armenia’s largest queer-activist event, continuing to hold a vital place in the life of the community.

The year 2025 promises to be even more dynamic, with new projects and initiatives built based on the needs and suggestions of the community. We remain resistant in our commitment to ensuring that LGBT+ individuals feel more protected and supported in Armenia in the coming year.

As we approach the New Year, we wish you boundless love, peace, and health. May 2025 bring new achievements, victories for justice, and a year filled with happiness and renewed hope for us all.
