Celebrating Bi Visibility Day

23-09-2025

Each year on September 23, we celebrate Bi Visibility Day, which symbolizes bisexual people and the community, as well as the movement’s fight against biphobia.

People who are attracted to more than one gender have always been an integral part of the LGBT+ movement, often remaining in the shadows of stereotypes and prejudices, but being active participants in the movement and supporters of people with other identities. Every year on September 23 and during the preceding Bisexual Awareness Week, the LGBT+ movement celebrates bisexuality, creating platforms to break stereotypes about bisexual people, share their stories, and raise awareness. We want to break biphobia by creating a more accepting and stronger LGBT+ community and movement.

This year, during Bisexual Awareness Week, Pink published posts about some of the stereotypes surrounding bisexual people, addressing their absurdity. The widespread myths about the loyalty and care of bisexual people in relationships, mandatory marriage, the stability and self-acceptance of bisexual identity are not only biased and misguided ideas but also give rise to hostile attitudes and harm us all. Therefore, it is important to be aware of them, break the myths about bisexual people, and accept their diverse stories.

Bi Visibility Day belongs to all of us; we see and love the bisexual people next to us as an integral part of diversity and our fight for human rights.
