Recently, we have observed an increase in fake pages impersonating Pink, which deliberately spread disinformation about the organization’s activities.
These incidents are not случайական. They often coincide with pre-election periods, when public discourse becomes more polarized and LGBT+ individuals become especially vulnerable targets for manipulative actions and disinformation campaigns. During such times, various disinformation efforts are used as tools to shape public opinion and to instill fear and distrust.
In one of the most recent cases, a fake account was created on X (formerly Twitter), imitating a verification badge and presenting itself as Pink’s official page.
This method is used to build trust and mislead users. Through such fake accounts, there are attempts to engage LGBT+ individuals in suspicious initiatives, including meetings or gatherings, which may pose serious risks to their safety and well-being.
This case once again demonstrates that LGBT+ individuals and related issues continue to be exploited within political and informational manipulation, with the aim of deepening social tensions and fueling hate speech.
The mentioned fake account has already been suspended. However, similar attempts may be repeated, so it is important to remain vigilant and maintain information hygiene.
