Mid-year summary of Pink’s services in 2024

08-08-2024

In the first half of 2024, Pink continued to actively provide vital services to the LGBT+ community. Alongside ongoing financial support for our existing programs, individual contributions through the Global Giving platform played a significant role in sustaining our efforts, enabling us to deliver uninterrupted services to those in need.

Our social worker conducted 145 counselings, offering guidance and, when necessary, referrals to Pink’s specialists or external institutions, such as psychiatrists, sexologists, and endocrinologists. The LGBT+ community also made extensive use of Pink’s online platforms and hotline, seeking advice and support on a range of issues.

Our legal team provided 78 councelings addressing discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, as well as other human rights violations. The legal support covered a variety of concerns, including police misconduct and brutality, violence and torture at police stations, violation of reasonable time limits in criminal cases, domestic violence, and hate crimes. Additionally, our lawyers assisted on issues related to migration, asylum seekers and refugees, labor rights, or other rights violations.

Psychologists at the organization were also busy, delivering 460 counselings. Visitors sought help from psychologists for issues related to anxiety, panic attacks, depression, interpersonal relationships, family relationship challenges, and other concerns.

The first half of the year was also marked by significant community engagement. We organized two camps, international exchange programs, and 14 social and educational events. Notably, two major events took place: a roundtable discussion during IDAHOBIT week and the presentation of our human rights report, culminating in the 9th Rainbow Forum, Armenia’s largest queer-activist gathering.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the individuals who continue to donate via Global Giving. Your unwavering support allows us to continue our work for the community without interruption.
