The 5th Pride Camp

Pride Camp, focused on relationships and stereotypes, was held at the end of June. Its goal was to create a safe space for discussing topics that are often silenced.

On the first day of the camp, participants discussed dating apps and cybersecurity, as well as talked about first dates. The theme of the second day was sexual health and consent. On the final day, the focus was on same-sex relationships, the stereotypes surrounding them, and the realities in Armenia, promoting experience sharing and open dialogue.

The discussions were led both by Pink’s staff and professionals collaborating with the organization.

Court sentences perpetrator in trans woman’s murder, but fails to investigate hate motive

Court sentences perpetrator in trans woman’s murder to 10 years in prison for the murder of a trans woman. However, neither the investigative body nor the court made any effort to determine whether the crime was committed with a hate motive.

Pink Human Rights Defender NGO stresses that this case demonstrates just how vulnerable trans people are, not only to violence but also to the indifference of the justice system. Widespread societal discrimination is reflected in law enforcement and judicial institutions as well. Therefore, it is essential that investigations into such cases be thorough and multi-faceted, with serious attention given to the possibility of a hate-based motive.

“Become the Voice of Change” – a three-day training on communication and campaign planning

From July 25 to 27, we organized a three-day training focused on strategic communication and capacity building. The training brought together activists engaged in the LGBT+ movement and individuals interested in human rights protection. It served both as a platform for developing professional skills and as a creative space for shaping public campaign ideas.

This initiative is of strategic importance not only for the implementation of Pink’s mission but also for advancing the goals of its supporting partner organizations. By empowering local activists and encouraging grassroots initiative, it becomes possible to build a more visible, resilient, and impactful movement—both in Armenia and across the region.
